There are times when I’m editing wedding images, and as I pour through the hundreds and hundreds there will be one that just makes my breathing stop; one or two that make my throat thick with emotion. All photographs are generational, lifelong…but some transcend that to me. Some are so strong with love, so dripping with finality and certainty that they seem to just punch you in the gut. Some I look at and feel like that moment, the moment in that photograph just lives on forever and forever.
I cried 3 times editing this blog.
“Hey! Hey Beka….so uh, I have a question for you….WILL YOU BE MY PHOTOGRAPHER??”
This phone call from LA is one that I will never forget. After shooting Laura’s wedding a few years back, we’d hoped to shoot both the OTHER sisters weddings one day. Susanna is one of these sisters. This is our 6th set of sisters who’s weddings we’ve shot. Its truly truly a powerful thing to shoot a family’s wedding photos. The hugs and kisses and dear words from their family to us were REAL and meaningful and we can’t wait to shoot a few more weddings for them…*wink*
Susanna + Danny and family and friends at this wedding…thank you for making us a part of your story. We love you:)
To start, I took a picture of Laura on her wedding day that is identical to the one below. This is at the family home after getting ready….the girls mom ordered the one of Laura…and I was so glad to take the same picture of Susanna for her momma to have forever.
